Vlad Bolboceanu - Ceramică


Vlad Bolboceanu - the artist who revolutionized the plastic criteria in ceramics, transits the usefulness of the material from its proper functionality to a decorative aesthetic, ranking on an innovative note in the Moldovan artistic space.

He was born on February 8, 1956 in Colicăuţi village, Briceni district. In 1975 he graduated from the "Alexandru Plămădeală" College of Fine Arts in Chisinau and in 1980 - the Institute of Arts in Tallinn, Estonia.
Back home in Moldova, the potter laid the foundations of decorative art. At the Institute of Arts in Chisinau, within the Faculty of Fine Arts, he opens the department of decorative art. Bolboceanu has several disciples: Valeriu Vînagă, Victor Macovei, Irina Filip, Octavian Romanescu and other artists.
In 1991 he became a member of the Union of Fine Artists of Moldova. Vlad Bolboceanu passed away prematurely on July 21, 2004, in Chisinau, being one of the most talented representatives of contemporary art in the Republic of Moldova.
